Windows 7 is scheduled to be the next major version of Microsoft Windows, expected to be the successor of Windows Vista.

Little is known about this OS. Unlike Vista, Microsoft will not be disclosing much information until close to release, which is expected to be in 2009-2011

Microsoft is planning to ship its next major version of Windows known internally as version “7″ Like Vista, Windows 7 will ship in business and consumer versions, Also a 32-bit and 64-bit version will be available.
Windows 7 was previously known by the code name Vienna or Blackcomb. A Microsoft representative confirmed that Windows 7 is the internal code name for the next client release of Windows.
