The Wiimote is one versatile piece of plastic, as an enterprising brain decided to pick its innards and replace it with the presence of an iPod Shuffle inside. Heck, even the case has been modified a bit to accommodate a pair of headphones, with the Shuffle residing comfortably within the confines of where the AA batteries are supposed to be. Definitely adding a whole lot more bulk to what was once an extremely portable MP3 player, this Wiimote hack will surely attract attention wherever you go.

For those that have started grilling out already, you might want to pick up this handy gadget. Grilling out is fun, but sometimes it can be frustrating if you’re stuck standing near the grill all day. Then if you do happen to become distracted, you’ve just burned everyone’s dinner and there is no one around to blame except for you. It’s the short ones you have to worry about the most though, if they aren’t fed, they will come after you. With this remote thermometer, you’d always know when the meat is done, without having to hover over the grill all day long.
Just grab the handheld and hook it on your belt with the belt clip. Meanwhile the thermometer stays in the meat. Your handheld will display the temperature and even announce out loud when the meat is almost done and then done. Giving you time to run inside to grab something to place the meat on before it’s actually finished. Both are of course water resistant, so you won’t have to worry about screwing up the electronics while cooking. The handheld has a backlight for late night grilling. To keep them powered you’ll need two AA batteries and then two AAA batteries. It’ll cost you $69.95 from Brookstone.

A fan is really just a fan. It blows on you, the only extra that is useful that could possibly be added to a fan is a heating option. Beyond that nothing extra is really needed. Yet, you do need your gadgets to match your style and even your interests. So if you need a fan to blend in with cheesy USB gadgets, this is the one. That or this could be for teachers and Apple/apple fans. Although the fan doesn’t come in very Apple-like colors, meaning, it doesn’t com in white.
This cheap flimsy fan in the shape of an apple is powered by a USB cord. If you want it blowing on you while you’re away from the computer, you’ll just need 4 AAA batteries on stand by to keep it powered up. Those batteries are of course, not included with the brightly colored fan. The fan comes in red, green and orange. As I said before, sadly there is no white version. It includes a USB cable with the fan upon purchase. You can pick it up for $16.99 from Gadget4all.

Waking up in the morning is rarely exciting or even interesting for that matter. Well now you can wake up to dynamite every single morning. It doesn’t get much more exciting than that. Granted, it might not take away the Monday morning blues, but it might at least on occasion give you enough of a laugh to cope with the morning a little better. Although being so tall and slim it would be far easier to knock this over or on a particularly grumpy morning, be chucked at the wall.
They were kind enough to warn you that the alarm clock is not recommended for travel. I imagine airport security would not find the alarm clock quite as amusing as you do. It’s also advised not to leave it anywhere that it might be mistaken as a real bomb. All around, it’s just recommended that you use the clock with care, which is probably best as jumpy as people tend to be. Imagine being skiddish over something ticking that looks like a bomb, people are so weird. The clock runs on 2 AAA batteries, has a backlight display and will cost you £14.99 or $29.68.

If you’re looking for a new grill for this summer, this would be a great one to consider. First of all it has the retro feel to it and it comes in great colors. Then it also serves as an iPod dock to keep your tunes going while you’re outdoors grilling. This gas grill would be a great way to keep you and any guests entertained, in more than one way. First of all because no one can resist well made food fresh off the grill, plus the music would be a great way to spend a warm summer day.
The speakers themselves are powered by 4 AA batteries or you can use the included adapter and plug it in. The grill also features a cooking surface and drip pan that is dishwasher safe to make clean up a bit more easy for you. The built-in speakers are said to be powerful and will not only work with iPods, but any other type of MP3 player as well. It is available in red, black as well as silver. The Gastar miGrill Tabletop Gas Grill is being sold for $129 from Meijer.

Did you ever get those pains in your legs from when you sit too long? For example, say you are on a transatlantic flight, and you’re on the window seat, blocked by two passengers who really hate it when you step over them.
If so, you might want to get the Traveler’s Leg Massager. All you need to do is strap it to your calf or foot, and it will stimulate the leg-bone by expansion and contraction of the leg muscles. It is the same method that hospitals use with compression boots to stop sedentary conditions that will eventually lead to deep vein thrombosis.
In addition to the “throbbing” feature of this device, it has three massage modes that might help alleviate the pressure that comes from an unhealthy habit of sitting around too long, for any reason.
You don’t have to be sitting by a power outlet when you are wearing this device, as it runs on two AA batteries that are good for five hours worth of power.
If you have a life where you sit down way too much, then you might want to invest the Traveler’s Leg Massager for about $149.95 on the ever-so popular Skymall site.
Just one final thought: this Traveler’s Leg Massager looks a lot like one of those ankle bracelets that they put on people who are under house arrest. So when you are flying, and you put on the Leg Massager, the passenger next to you might ask: “Are you sure you should be traveling in your…condition?” Better be prepared with a good response for that one.

Some of you might remember the iPod LEGO Dock that we covered here at GeekAlerts last year. This playful audio accessory is now available in two new colors: black and white.
The Block Speaker Docks are designed like those classic building blocks from your childhood and they’re like the iBlock Speakers bigger brother. You just slot your iPod into the top of the dock and the building block will pump out all of your favourite tunes.
If you don’t have an iPod then you shouldn’t worry – if you have another MP3 player or a CD walkman they won’t slot into the dock but you can easily connect them to the speaker using the headphone cable supplied. Stop growing up and pump out some banging tunes.

Features
- An iPod speaker dock that looks like a gigantic toy building block.
- Active Bass System for superior sound quality.
- Supports the following iPod family generations:
Nano 1st, 2nd 7 3rd, iPod 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and Classic, Mini, iPod Touch 1st, Shuffle.
- Easily connect other MP3 players using the mini headphone jack cable (included).
- Can be charged using a 12V adapter (not included).
- Suitable for ages 12 years+.
- Requires 3 x AA Batteries (not included).
- Size: 24 x 9 x 4.7cm.

The Block Speaker Dock is available from the IWOOT website for £39.99 (about $56 USD).

ThinkGeek seems to have a penchant for remote controlled helicopters, and their latest attempt in this field is the Dark Blade 3-Channel R/C Helicopter. This surprisingly affordable $29.95 device is an original ThinkGeek creation, featuring a “futuristic drop-ship style design with precise flying characteristics and an innovative rear propeller system.” In addition, it is touted to be the smallest 3-channel R/C copter in the world at the moment, so we won’t recommend leaving the windows open while you fly this thing indoors lest it crashes to the ground with a strong gust of wind.
The Dark Blade 3-Channel R/C Helicopter has dual rotors on the top which spin in opposite directions. These opposite spinning blades cancel out uncontrolled torque making for incredibly stable flight. For forward and reverse motion the tail rotor then blows up or down, pitching the copter forward or backward and causing it to move in that direction. It’s a great control system and a pleasure to fly.
The rate of diminishing returns here ain’t too shabby after all – a 10 minute charge time results in a 7 minute fly time, which is much better compared to others we’ve seen in the market. We’d strongly recommend you getting rechargeable batteries to go along with it though, as half a dozen AA batteries are required at any one time to keep the whole gig going.
